Answers to the most frequently asked questions about ASSET.CH – for private individuals and firms.
Getting started
What is ASSET.CH?
ASSET.CH is a directory of asset managers, family offices, private equity firms, trustees and other financial service providers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. You compare profiles by category, canton, minimum investment, specialisation and supervision and contact firms directly.
Using the directory is free for private individuals and for firms. ASSET.CH does not give advice and does not broker investments – you enter into any agreement directly with the firm.
Go to the directory.
What do «Verified firm» and «Regulation verified» mean?
Verified firm: the administration has checked that the firm exists and is active in the commercial register or UID register, that the registered person is entitled to represent the firm (signing authority or power of attorney), that their ID matches the name in the account and that the e-mail address belongs to the firm. If the firm changes its name, UID, website or register link, the badge disappears until it has been checked again.
Regulation verified: in addition, the entry in the supervisory authority’s register (e.g. FINMA) has been checked.
Neither is a recommendation or a guarantee of the quality of the advice.
Messages, attachments, support and reporting
Under Messages your conversations are shown as a chat. You can attach up to 3 files (PDF, JPG or PNG, at most 10 MB each); they are stored encrypted and opened only for the participants. «Read» shows that the other side has seen your last message.
- Support: With «Contact support» you write to the ASSET.CH team; the reply also appears under Messages. Without an account we reply by e-mail with a personal link.
- Report or block: Below every conversation you can report spam, attempted fraud or harassment. Only then may the administration read that conversation. Blocking ends the contact; whoever blocked lifts it by writing again.
- E-mails: Under Settings you choose one e-mail per message, a daily summary or none.
- AI help (if switched on): «Translate» on a message, automatically if you wish; while writing «Suggest a reply», «More polite», «Shorter», «Correct» and «Translate into». These are only suggestions – nothing is sent without your click.
For private individuals
How do I contact a firm?
Every profile has a contact form. So that firms receive genuine enquiries, private individuals confirm their identity once: e-mail address, an official ID with a selfie, which the ASSET.CH team checks, and – where an SMS service is set up – their mobile number via SMS code. Contact is not possible without an account; you can search and compare without one.
- Create a free account and confirm your e-mail address.
- Under Verification, upload your ID and selfie and, if required, confirm your mobile number.
- Send your message. You will find replies under Messages; you will also receive an e-mail.
Sending a request to several firms
Instead of writing to firms one by one, you can describe what you are looking for under New request (e.g. asset management from CHF 500'000 in Zurich). Matching firms receive the request without your name and without contact details and can send you an offer.
You compare the offers under My requests. Only when you reply to an offer does that one firm see your name. A request expires automatically, or you can close it yourself.
Verification for private individuals
Verification protects firms from fake enquiries and protects you from misuse of your name.
- E-mail address: you confirm it via the link sent to you after registering.
- ID: a photo of the front and back and a selfie holding the ID. The ASSET.CH team checks the images. They are stored encrypted, only the administration can see them, and they are deleted once a decision has been made.
- Mobile number (where an SMS service is set up): you receive a code by SMS. A number can only be linked to one account.
If the check is declined, you will see the reason under Verification and can submit again.
For firms
Listing and verifying your firm
The profile is free. Register with an e-mail address on your firm’s domain (no free e-mail services such as Gmail).
- Complete your profile: categories, specialisations, minimum investment, supervision, texts, logo.
- Under Verification, enter your UID and confirm that you are entitled to represent the firm – either as an authorised signatory entered in the commercial register or with a power of attorney – and upload a photo of your ID with a selfie.
- The administration checks and approves your profile. Uploaded documents and ID images are stored encrypted and deleted after the decision.
Responding to requests from private individuals
Verified firms receive requests that match their categories, cantons and minimum investment. You see the request without the person’s name and contact details.
Reply templates and request status
Under Requests you can create up to 10 reply templates. When replying, pick a template and the placeholders {title}, {category} and {canton} are filled in with the details of the request. Then adapt the text – a personal offer works better.
Every request has a status: new, read, offer sent, in conversation or closed. You set «won» or «lost» yourself, together with an internal note that only your team can see (stored encrypted). At the top of the list you see the figures for the last 90 days and can filter by status.
Getting a suggested profile text and translating it
Under Suggested text, your profile details are turned into a factual text. If the AI is switched on, you can add keywords; the AI then writes a draft from them. It uses only your details and makes no promises of returns and no invented figures. You review and edit the suggestion before applying it.
If automatic translation is active, missing languages are then translated. Texts that you write or edit yourself are never overwritten.
Details from your website: at the top of the firm profile, under «Take details from your website», ASSET.CH reads the home page and some sub-pages of your own website and suggests categories, specialisations, clients, languages, address, contact details and a description. You tick what is correct and then save the profile. Only your firm’s website is read (domain as in the profile or in your e-mail address).
Account & security
Authenticator app and recovery codes
By default, you confirm sign-in with a code sent by e-mail. An authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password) is more secure: under Security, start with your password, scan the QR code and enter the first code.
You receive 10 recovery codes. Each can be used once and replaces the app code if you lose your phone. Print them or store them in a password manager. Without the app and without a recovery code, only support can help, after an identity check.
App or e-mail code: under «Security» you decide whether only the app counts (most secure) or whether you choose between the app and a code by e-mail when signing in – and which one sign-in starts with. On the code page you then switch to the other method with one click. If you switch the app off, the code by e-mail applies again.
Devices, sessions and new sign-in alerts
Under Security you can see where your account is signed in and end individual sessions or all others. If you sign in on a device your account has never used before, you receive an e-mail.
When entering the confirmation code, you can choose «Trust this browser»: the code is then no longer required on this device for a few weeks. Do not use this on other people’s computers. If you change your password, all sessions and trusted browsers are ended.
New passwords are checked against known data leaks; a password found there is rejected.
Data protection & fraud
Recognising investment fraud
Reputable asset managers do not promise returns. Be careful with:
- “guaranteed returns”, “risk-free”, very high interest per month;
- payments in advance, fees for a payout, crypto wallets or gift cards;
- pressure (“today only”), contact via messenger apps instead of through the firm;
- offers to “recover” lost money.
ASSET.CH never asks for passwords or codes. If you receive a suspicious message, report the profile using «Report profile». Messages with typical patterns are also displayed with a warning.
Your data
Names, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, messages and requests are stored encrypted in the database; ID images and supporting documents are additionally stored as encrypted files and only until the decision. Backups are encrypted too.
Under Settings you can download your data (Swiss FADP), change your e-mail address or delete your account. Details in the Privacy Policy.
